Hi – I’m Woodstock

I just thought, as one of the critters here at Kritter Korner, I would share with you my story…
I live with 7 other dogs, 6 cats, an Umbrella Cockatoo, a Leopard Gecko, and 3 Khaki Campbell ducks that live outside. Quite the zoo, if you ask me, but my Mom is soooo into critters!
She’d have more and make it her full time job working with critters, if she could. Let’s not think about ALL those other critters for now, I just thought I’d tell you about me. See I am one of what my mom calls her pocket puppies…
I’m a Pomeranian and I came to what is now Kritter Korner 8 years ago at about 12 weeks old. I was such the little fur ball at one pound.
You see the human boy (Justin) who lived here at the time, didn’t think I was much of a dog since I was so small. I’ll tell you a secret he carried me everywhere in the pockets of his cargo pants. He couldn’t fool me, I know he loved me from the start, small or not I became his little bud!
When I was just a year old I was being watched at the neighbors cuz mom and Justin had to be out of town. Just before mom got back I broke my front left leg, OUCH!! Mom got me to my Vet right away; they took x-rays and wrapped my leg to help stabilize it. Afterwards my Mom and Chico’s Mom, Diane (Chico is my little Chihuahua friend that comes over to play with me so I can play with someone closer to my size), rushed me to a special Vet that was an hour and a half away from our house to get my leg fixed.
Doctor Bruce was soooo nice, plus he was cute, so my mom said as humans go. He fixed my leg up real good; he put a metal plate and five screws in it so I could heal. After about 11 weeks I was good to go and Chico and I could play again as if I never hurt myself at all.
On March 21st. of this year (2008), now I’m almost 9 years old, this June weighing only 4 pounds now, I broke the same legs again!
I had just come in from going out side with my brothers and sister, landed the wrong way on the carpet and OUCH! Snap! Darn, not again was all I could think.
Mom took me right way to the Vet to find I did break the same leg I did 8 years ago, just above my last break where Doctor Bruce put the metal plate and screws.
So it’s another cast for me and time to rest and mend. Well it’s been five weeks since my new cast and after my last visit to the Vet and another x-ray it seems things aren’t going well. I’m much older now and not healing as fast as I did before. I’m really trying to rest and get better, but I really want to be outside playing with my bothers and sisters – but, Mom won’t let me because, of my cast and all.
I have to admit I’m really liking the extra attention with being carried everywhere since I’m NOT allowed to run, jump or go up or down the stairs. Let’s face it, it’s boring all I do is lay around all day. I want to PLAY! After all I’m not that old I can still play, but Mom won’t let me I have to wait until I can finally get rid of my cast once and for all. But that won’t be a while, I have to go back my Vet again in a few weeks for another x-ray to see if my old bones are healing or not. They will take my cast off, give me a new one or a splint, depends if my bones are doing good or not.
I guess I will just have to wait and see. I have to get better, I am really trying, my Mom has also been praying for my bones to heal. Another little secret here I‘d like to share with you, Beside Ricky, who is a gray kitty that lives here I am my Dad’s (Mom’s editor) favorite dog. Even thought he doesn’t like little dogs he LOVES me to pieces, I can DO NO wrong when it comes to Dad, I am SPECIAL!
So here you have my little story of begins here at Kritter Korner. I’ll let you all know how my healing process goes but, for now it’s just a wait and see.
Thanks for visiting,
Woodstock

Hey Babe!
I see you haven’t forgotten me, your little lover boy. Isn’t that just the neatest picture of us?!!!!!
I love the other one of just you. Hot color for your cast! Did you pick it out?
Mom told me she visited you today and you are as cute and sweet as ever. Well – I could have told her that!
When she first told me about your accident, I wanted to visit, but Mom said no. She knew we would want to run and play and you couldn’t. So I had to settle for sending cards and getting updates from Mom.
Hopefully you will soon be able to be out and run around with the “big guys” again. But be careful.
Send word when we can get together again.
Love and kisses,
Chico

Dear Chico,
I could NEVER forget you!
I’ll never forget the first day we got together to play! What fun! All I could think was FINALLY someone my size to play with!
Coming over to you house to play was a blast! But, I have to say after 3 hours and you pulling me around the kitchen floor like a dust mop and all the chasing of each other we did, I was really tied
As for the color of my cast, my Vet picked it out. The colors is not bad but, being the Princess that I am I would have preferred pink!
I think it was so sweet that you wanted to come and visit me. I really loved the cards you had your Mom send, how thoughtful of you
I’m sure your Mom told you I go to my Vet next week and we’ll see if I am finally mending. When I am all better you will have to have your Mom bring you over so we can play outside. Running and playing with the “big guys” is fun but, it’s not like hanging out with you.
Love,
Woodstock
P.S. It was good to see your Mom again.

Verna and Sandy,
Mom told me that you sent wishes for me to get better. I told her she had to write you for me to say “thank YOU so much”. I have been trying to rest, and I have even been eating all the vitamin she and Alan have been trying to hiding in my food even though I know they are there. It has been kind of boring just hanging out in my house/kennel but, Mom won’t let me do much else because, my Vet gave her stick instruction to follow to help me get better.
Next week I get to go back to my Vet to see if I am getting better, I hope so.
As for my pictures I have to admit I was not happy that Mom wanted to take a picture of me with my cast. It’s not my best look if you ask me. So after two days and a dozen pictures later and the fact that Mom was being as patient with me as she is with all us critters here I decided to give in. I just couldn’t help myself; she just seems to have a way with us.
I want to say “Thanks” again for all the get well wishes and for reading my story and all of the other stuff that my Mom write.
Woodstock.
